Ahh, fall…my happy place and my favorite time of the year. As I write this, I’m slowly sipping my fav fall drink (vanilla chai latte with pumpkin spice) with my new fall nails (hello burnt orange), dressed in cozy flannels, and a pair of lovingly worn fuzzy booties. To top it off, my house smells like your favorite coffee shop mixed with salted pumpkin (thank you Marshall’s and Burlington home clearance section)!
But because that’s just not enough fall for this gal, there’s one other thing that gets me toxically giddy about fall and that’s the wide range of makeup looks I can play with. The seasonal switch from sunkissed subtler summer looks to the warmer cozier fall looks is what I’m here for.
Whether you’re planning to make a statement at a Halloween party or just want to switch up your day-to-day makeup looks, these tips should come in handy.
Here are my 7 favorite fall makeup looks that’ll make you swoon:
KITTENN EYELINER
Think a cat-eye but just shorter and a hair more subtle, makeup artists have named it the “kitten eyeliner”. Unlike the classic cat-eye, the kitten eyeliner has you start your application at the center of the eye then using short thin strokes to follow the line of the out-eye toward its edge. You can even give it a little flick at the end for a dainty wing.
BERRY-COLORED LIPS
Who doesn’t love a deep berry-shade lipstick in the fall? I’m thinking high-shine plum, dark cherry, vibrant purple, warm dark brown, and deep burgundy shades for a classic, vintage vibe. You can pair it with black eyeliner, nude eyeshadow, and a dab of pale blush to complete the fall look.
DEWY CHEEKS
What goes smashingly well with matte berry or cocoa brown lipstick? Soft, dewy cheeks. Use a moisturizing primer before applying your foundation to give your skin a smooth and supple look. Use a liquid highlighter to draw attention to the high points of your face and a contouring stick in a slightly darker shade than your foundation to accent major cheekbone game for days.
Tip: Remember to cleanse, tone, and moisturize your face every day to boost the natural glow of your skin which can be enhanced with makeup.
LONG LASHES
Make your lashes look thicker and fuller without getting extensions for a perfect fall look. All you have to do is use an eyelash curler before you apply the mascara. Some makeup experts recommend using a blow dryer on the curler tool, for about five seconds, before using it on your eyes (still a little terrified of that though). The heat helps make your eyelashes seem fuller. A bolder eyeliner will also give your lashes that va-va-va-vroom thick lash look.
LIPSTICKS GALORE
Whether your schtick is a lip stain, creamy wave, matte till you can’t matte no more or a classy non-sticky gloss, nothing will brighten up your face more than choosing a good flattering lip color. Play around with different types and tones even mixing some to get that personalized color that makes your pout feel fabulous.
Tip: Don’t forget to lightly rub your lips with a gentle lip scrub or make your own with (raw) sugar, your favorite essential oil (coconut, olive, almond, etc.), and honey. Not only will you be exfoliating dead skin that needs removing, but you’ll also be prepping those puckers up for the ultimate in softness during the coming in temps but also for…um…mistletoe (wink).

GRAPHIC EYELINER
Want to add a little pop of color to your eyes? Try a graphic liner look. Start by drawing a thin white line along your crease and then paint on a bold contrasting color (yellow, orange, or red). Then, blend your base shade with the liner for an Oscar-worthy dramatic fall look.
ROSY GLOW
What says “fall” better than a natural rosy glow? Get that flawless blush look by adding a dash of a cream or liquid blush to the apple of your cheeks and the tips of your nose. Next, follow with a subtle sweep of color across your forehead and chin with a light dusting of a highlighter for the perfect finish. Pair with glossy lip color for a nice low-key evening out with friends or a get-to-know-me dinner date.
CONCLUSION
Be it a no-makeup look, vintage browns, and mauves, vibrant and bold colors, high-shine gloss, or even warm pastel hues, fall is the perfect time to experiment with your look.

I still get intimidated by berry shades too 😂! I tend to keep it simple with a clear lip gloss or neutral shade!
